Which sterilizer is best?
I used the tommee tippee water %26amp; microwave steriliser, I liked the water way because it lasts for 24 hours, So i could pop the bottles in before bed and they would still be okay to use the next day, where as steam sterilisers only last 2-3 hours if un-opened. The sterilsing tablets cost about £1 for a months worth. Alot of people dont bother sterislising but i did until very recently, when my daughter turned 6months, Now i just give the bottles a very good wash. Also look out for how many bottles fit in the steriliser at once and if your bottles fit in it! I had a sterilsier that fitted only 2 of my daughtes bottles in at a time so i had to buy a new one!
Reply:I never used a bottle sterilizer because I had better things to spend my money on like diapers. When my babies started taking a bottle I got my biggest pot and filled it with water which I brought to boil. I then used tongs to dip the bottles and nipples into the hot water then placed them out to dry. It's cheaper and just as effective.
Reply:pot of boiling hot water.
I have a sterlizer from babies r us, it is the especially for baby brand and it had high reviews on their site http://www.babiesrus.com but I have never used it, I always just boil water on the stove and do my sterilizing that way. might as well save your money and space by doing it the old fashioned way. It doesnt even take that much more time. ---- same goes for warming bottles, you do not need a warmer (unless you are on the go, maybe) just run the bottle under warm water or leave it a few minutes in a bowl/pot of warm water.
Reply:Actually dipping the bottles into boiling water is the most economic %26amp; best way of sterilizing bottles.
Your baby will only need them to be sterilized for a short time.
After that the sterilizer itself becomes unnecessary.
Reply:I was given a Philips sterilizer and food warmer. It works well for me and I am still using it to warm food for my 15 months old. I used the Avent sterilizer in the hospital. That works well for me too.
Reply:I love my Avent. I use Dr. Brown's glass bottles and they fit well without the second tray in the sterilizer. Simple to use and fast.
