Do you have a choice C SECTION OR NORMAL BIRTH?

Just curious i live in australia and im 28 weeks pregnant and just wanted to no if you had a choice on how you delievered the baby?


I was told u did by a few people


But i wanna no for sure

Reply:well, in the state of Fla, you will have a normal vaginal birth, UNLESS there are complications and the Dr determines that a cesarean is needed to safeguard the health of the mom, baby or both, but the DR decides, not you.

Reply:if you go public you have no choice unless it's for medical reasons but with private it's totally up to you. i went public with my first and had natural even though the baby was 4.5 kg. public will push you to have natural until it's the last option (which i think is crazy) but with my second i went private and had a c section no questions asked.
Reply:Some doctors will give you that choice, I suppose, but most will reserve c-sections for medical reasons only. I don't know why anyone would want to choose a c-section. They are more dangerous to mommy and baby (under normal circumstances) and recovery takes a lot longer. My sister couldn't even take care of her baby for like 2 weeks after her c-section.

Unless there is some medical reason that would prevent you from having your ideal birth....In the event you are wanting a c-section, make sure you do your research, it is MAJOR surgery and about 10% of women who have them pass away. I had one with my first and now have to have another with my twins for medical reasons, but I would not opt to have one if it wasn't medically necessary. Just food for thought.
Reply:not really sure on that, i had my first son natural, and my 2nd by emergency c-section, only 'cause i pushed for along time and he wouldnt come out,a nd blood pressure was goin' up and down. but good luck and congradulations
Reply:You do have a choice! You should talk with your doctor about a birthing plan which informs your doctor of what you would like to have happen while you're in labor and delivery. Most doctors encourage natural births with or without the help of pain medications unless health issues arouse that may affect the mother or the unborn child.
Reply:C-sections are an option for medical reasons only. If the baby is breech, twins, or fetal distress you should get a c-section. If not natural is still the best way to go! Electing to have surgery is never smart, and it is much harder to recover from. Plus, your stomach stays a little flabbier with a c-section. I had to have both of my children c-section, and I wish I could have had them naturally.
Reply:I did. I live in the US. Most times you hav a choice unless there is a problem then the doctor makes a recommendation and in emergencies it is likely you will have a c section. Check with your doctor to make sure that the birthing option you choice is appropriate for you.
Reply:not sure on that, but why have a c-section, it's surgery, and you are really sore afterwards. when I delivered I had 2 girls that had done c-sections and they couldn't move, I was up and about, and they were in bed really hurting, so I wouldn't suggest it, only for medical reasons
Reply:I am an American and no, I was not offered a choice. C-section is for problems and I am grateful I did not have to have one! Recovery is much longer and you have the possible complications of surgery to deal with. I can't imagine "choosing" to be cut open if I didn't have to be! My babies and I went home within 20-24 hours after delivery and I was on my feet and going strong in a few days.
Reply:As far as I remember my both the doctors I've had gave me an option whether I wanted a C-section or a natural birth, but that was in the state of Florida in the USA. I did go with a vaginal delivery though, I know people that have had C-sections and it took them longer to recover, or their stitches got infected.


That's just my situation though, I know there are doctors that will only perform a C-section if it's necessary or if you're first born was delivered that way, they wont take any chances by letting you deliver vaginally and then they would perform another C-section.

Reply:I am not totally sure if optional Cesarean is available here in Australia ask your Dr or antenatal midwife.From my experience they prefer you to have a natural birth unless there are complications %26amp; you have to have a c section.

there are so many things with a c-section that just arent fun, even 6 months after


u need to read up on it





im 28wks pregnant too, and im the most excited person about having a natural vaginal birth


all that pain and suffering, it will be so worth it to meet my little boy
