Unique Baby Names for a girl?

I'm having a girl in May and was orginally planning on naming her Lori Jade, but now I'm deciding it's not unique enough, which is what I want.

Reply:Honestly....I like the name you picked out (Lori Jade) better than any other suggestions given here. I have 2 young children and I can tell you that I've never come across a Lori (not in their preschool, Sunday school, or classes they take). You'd be surprised how common some of the supposedly "uncommon" names are now. Stick with Lori Jade - it's very pretty.
Reply:I named my daughters Caprius Raschelle and Moralyne [pro. More-uh-lynn] Roxanna.

I love unique names, because common names seem dull and overused! I want people to think when they hear my kids names!

Reply:You should choose a name based off of how much you like the sound and not how unique it is.

Though Lori was once semi-common, in a sea full of babies named Madison, Isabella, Ava, and Aiden, it'll stand out. Jade is a beautiful middle name too.
Reply:Aubrey Grace
Reply:I think it's very unique! Anyways, I think a unique name that isn't too out there is Juliette. It's gorgeous! Another one is Genevieve. French names are gorgeous, I love them!

Reply:The name Lori can be spelled so many ways, you can make it unique.

Lori

Lorie

Lauri

Laurie

Laury

Lory

Lorey

Loree

Lauree

I agree with the person who said Lori will seem unique to all the "more common" names currently in use. If you love it, use it.

As for names I prefer, well, ones I have always loved but never used seem to be very popular lately.

Lark

Skye

Trinity - my favorite, but not because of matrix, because in cooking, we use the "trinity" ... onions, celery, bell pepper ... in just about everything. It is a base, or foundation. So when I think of the name Trinity, I think foundation.

Caliope - sounds pretty.

Caliope Rose

Felicity Joy

Aria Jade

Allura (like the word allure, only with an "uh" at the end) Faye

Azure Skye

Blessings
Reply:My name is Nora Aisling, so i like the 1st suggestion as Aisling, but i think its a good middle name. it means 'vision' or 'dream'... good luck...
Reply:Lorelai Jade

Lorianna Jade (sticking with the same form)

Jada Braelyn

I dunno.. ;o)

What baby girl name do you like more?

I have picked out two baby girl names:

Olivia Grace

And

Marissa Jade

What do you like?

I was even thinking of Marissa Grace or Olivia Jade, I can't decide. Help! :P

What baby girl name do you like more?
olivia grace is so pretty, its sounds really classic.
Reply:I think you and your hubby made a great choice. Olivia Grace is a pretty name. Report It

Reply:Well since I have to pick from them two I would have to say: Marissa-Jade.
Reply:Olicia Grace...It sounds so pure and innocent...
Reply:Marissa Jade.
Reply:Marissa Jade.

I REALLY like that one the best.
Reply:how bout olivia grace
Reply:neither how about Monica tats a great name dont u think so and if you dont like it look up some baby girl names and then choose the best one
Reply:Olivia Grace.

Jade is pretty, but trendy, like the bell bottom pants that you loved in the 70's but looked so silly in the 80's. It's a beautiful name but not a "woman's" name. Try to imagine your daughter as the leader of a business with the name Jade. . . it's tough. Now try to imagine her as a stripper. . . much easier.

Olivia and Grace are both classic and classy, and your daughter can grow into them. Neither is over-used these days, nor are they so uncommon that nobody will know how to pronounce or spell them.

Congrats!
Reply:Olivia Grace is beautiful, but all of them are great names. Olivia Jade is awesome. If I ever have a girl again I'm gonna come calling on you to pick a name out for me. OK?
Reply:Marissa Grace... seriously. That's beautiful.
Reply:I like Olivia Grace. I've never known a nice Marissa and Jade's a bit weird.
Reply:Isolde Jade
Reply:olivia grace.
Reply:How about MARISSA GRACE.
Reply:olivia grace is a nice one . Very elegant and also sounds rich initself
Reply:Neither, quite honestly.
Reply:I like Marissa Grace!
Reply:Olivia Grace has a very nice ring to it!
Reply:marissa jade sounds nice. the other makes her sound older in my opin =D
Reply:olivia grace is pretty; marissa will be called melissa I guarantee it
Reply:I dont like either, sorry! But IF I had to pick, I like Marissa Jade
Reply:Marissa Grace is a great name i would know...
Reply:Either name with Jade. My daughter's name is Jayde Lynn. And for all of you that said Jade is wierd... :P
Reply:I've never liked the name Olivia, it reminds me of green olives. And Marissa is too common. Grace is a beautiful name that is reminiscent of a 50s actress. Jade is exotic. How bout Jaden Grace? Or a various form...
Reply:Oh my gosh, I love them both! Great choices! But I'll go with Olivia Jade. Have you looked up thier meanings?, that may help you decide.

Olivia means "Peace" and is Latin.

Marissa means "of the sea" and is Latin too....

*I wanted to add that I've chosen Layla for my little girl, not sure about middle name yet though
Reply:I love Olivia. I think Grace goes well with either name.
Reply:Oliva grace or Olivia Jade. I think I like Olivia Jade. It just brings up images of shades of green. Marissa reminds me of Marissa Tomey and my cousin Vinny.
Reply:Olivia Grace is beautiful. I love that you could call her Liv too.
Reply:olivia grace definately
Reply:Marissa Jade
Reply:olivia jade is so cute! pick that one!

What do you think of Nala Jade?

My boyfriend really favors the name Nala for our daughter and I really love Jade. So im torn between:

Nala Jade

Nala Alexandria (his name is Alex)

Nala Antoinette (in honor of my baby sis)

Let me know what you think!

What do you think of Nala Jade?
Nala Jade...by far.

The others DONT flow. They are too long for such a short first name.
Reply:Nala Jade is beautiful
Reply:Alexandria Nala

Alexandria Jade

Antoinette Nala

Jade Nala

Nala Jade

Nala Alexandria

Nala Antoinette

Any of them.
Reply:Nala Jade is pretty!!!
Reply:Nala Jade is short and sweet.
Reply:I don't really like Nala. Maybe it makes me think of Nada too much and that is nothing.

Have you seen this name: Nuala? Its Irish

Source:

It is really a shortened version of Fionnuala (see Fionnuala above) and in Ireland it is more widely used than Fionnuala. Meaning "fair shouldered, exceptionally lovely," the name has been in existence since the 13th century
Reply:I am so not foond of that it sounds like shes a lion (THE LION KING) try

clara jade

sara jade

lisa jade

lora jade

melisa jade

melany jade

amy jade

rebecka jade
Reply:Nala Jade is prettier.
Reply:it's nice.
Reply:Love it! Nala Jade. Very cute
Reply:Jade is nice. But Nala everyone will think you are a Lion King fan.

It will be referred to for the rest of her life

How about Jade Alexander
Reply:Of your ideas I prefer Nala Jade.
Reply:I love Jade. Not so keen on Nala, why don't you try Lana instead?
Reply:Nala Jade is perfect. Stick with the name that means most to the both of you :)
Reply:Is it pronounced Nyla? Nyla Jade or Nyla Alexandria is very pretty names.
Reply:your gonna name your kid after the lion king??
Reply:I think Nala Jade is beautiful.

How about Jade Alexandria or Alexandria Jade????????

Compromise, but have fun doing it!!!!
Reply:I like them all

I lost my baby at 22 weeks and need help?

I lost my baby girl Jade Marie Flores at 22 weeks preg. I had what doctors call PROMM premature rupture of mucus membranes "unknown reasons" but Its been since september, 30, 2007 since it happened I lost her on a holy day SUNDAY.

all along i thought the baby was a boy. So when in the hospital I wanted to name her I named her Jade. I been sad because I had lost a baby in 2006 at 6 weeks pregnant. I been devestated because I have not been in work since this happened now I have to go back and I have no idea how to deal with everyone. My co workers tell me that everyone has been asking for me.

I lost my baby at 22 weeks and need help?
I'm very sorry to hear your news.I lost my baby at 20 weeks due to complications on the 9 Aug 07.Had to have my labour induced and give birth to a child we could never bring home.I really feel for you,as no mother should ever have to feel this way.

I havent been back to my job, either. The thought of going back to where I received the phone call to tell me of my baby's fate revolts me.

You will find a lot of people wont know what to say to you,and end up coming out with stupid things,ie:I know how you feel ,etc. When quite clearly they have no idea, but I truly think its because they dont know what to say.Others dont say anything about the baby, again because not sure what they should say.

Clearly if people are asking after you, they are just concerned.

Maybe on a coffee break, get your work mates around and explain what happened and how you feel about talking about your little girl.Make it clear to people that its either ok or not ok to talk about it with you.

You have got through this and you are strong.Anything ahead of you will be fine.Good luck for everything.Life does get brighter,Stay positive .xx
Reply:I would tell everyone to mind their own business. Also that you would not like to speak of anything to do with that subject since its a touchy subject.im sorry to hear about your loss.i can't even imagine how horrible that would be...take care:)
Reply:Sorry to hear about your loss :(
Reply:I am so sorry for your losses.

If you have any close friends or co-workers, call one of them before you return to work, and have him/her explain to everyone that you are hurting over your loss, and that they should not bother you with questions or by expressing their sympathy.

Jade is a beautiful name. I hurt for you.
Reply:i know your baby went 2 a better place and he or she is waiting 4 you when you go 2 heaven youll be able 2 reunite with him or her again same with my cousin mikey and my great grandfather i want 2 meet them sumday but thier in the crossroads waiting 4 me
Reply:Baby girl, It'll be alright. The pain will eventually fade. You will always remember the babies you lost. You will always think of them. You will remember when they should be going to kindergarten, When they might graduate high school. You will tell their brothers and sisters about them. You lost a child. not a pregnancy or a fetus. You are a good Mom. The pain will fade. Be strong. I will be thinking of you.
Reply:I am so sorry for your loss. Talk to your boss or a close friend, and ask them to ask everyone to not talk about it. I know it's hard, but people sometimes don't know how to show they care unless they say a supportive comment. Good luck on your first day back at work!
Reply:when people ask, politely say that you don't wish to talk about it.

I send my sympothies and i love the name, very beautiful
Reply:Maybe you should let your boss know what has happened to you, and that you are still grieving. They can make sure that your co-workers know not to ask you about it until you are ready to bring it up. I am very sorry for your loss.
Reply:Just explain everything as it is. If they don't believe you then get your doctor to write you a note. Spend time with family members/significant special to get this off your heart.
Reply:i'm sorry

What do you think of these baby names?

Jareah Mae, Colie Marie, Sharadawn Lee, ReBecka Sue, Jade Rachelle, Constance Nichole....Please tell me what you guys think! Thank you very much.

What do you think of these baby names?
I like:

Jade Rachelle

Constance Nichole

Don't like:

Jareah Mae

Colie Marie

Sharadawn Lee

ReBecka Sue (the spelling of Rebecca is surely to be an issue!)
Reply:Colie Marie i think this is a very cute name
Reply:I like Jade, Marie and Constance. Rebecca if you spell it properly.
Reply:There nice names seperatly but they sound bad when there put together
Reply:How are they pronounced. Try something simple, like Harold

Hallelujah Holla Back
Reply:I can tell you put a lot of thought into them!! nice job!! = )

A few of them don't seem to flow together. Try switching some of the names around. My favorite from the list is:

Constance Nichole.

very nice name!!
Reply:I think that if you call your daughter any of these names, she will grow up to hate you.

Spell the fourth one in either its classical ("Rebecca") or biblical ("Rebekah") forms, and then you're on to something.
Reply:i like Jareah Mae- how do u pronounce it?
Reply:I like Jade, and Nickole.

My favorite is Lily.
Reply:I like the first one. I like ReBecka the least because the spelling is not classic. If you name your daughter that she will have to contend with it being mispelled all of her life. Trying to correct it could be exhausting for her, esp in grade school.
Reply:Overboard. I think you need to start at the drawing board.

How about something simple like...Emma Madeline?
Reply:The only name I like is Jade Rachelle. Colie...how is that pronounced? When I saw it I thought of the dog breed, Collie.
Reply:Jareah Mae - Jareah? I don't know how to pronounce it. May is my middle name so I like that :)

Colie Marie - I'm not a fan of Colie, I know a boy who is a playa with that name. Marie is too overused just because it goes with every name.

Sharadawn Lee - Wouldn't Sharon be nicer? Both names would probably get shortened to "Shaz" anyway. Lee is better spelt Leigh for a girl.

ReBecka Sue - Prefer Rebekah because ReBecka looks like you're trying too hard to make it unusual. Sue is ok.

Jade Rachelle - Jade is ok, Rachelle is ok.

Constance Nichole - Constance sounds like a very old, strict persons name so I would suggest Connie Nicole instead. Nicole is nice without a "H".
Reply:I only like Jade...
Reply:I only like Marie, Jade and Nicole is okay
Reply:Constance Nicole is a good name... very feminine and sweet...

(='-'=)
Reply:The names I like

Jada Rachelle

Constance Nichole

I do not like the others

I like Jada, much better than Jade

Congratulations
Reply:Jade and Constance are nice.
Reply:I only like Jade and Nichole.
Reply:Jareah Mae; its alright

Colie Marie; realllly pretty

Sharadawn Lee; no

ReBecka Sue; no

Jade Rachelle; gross

Constance Nichole; pretty
Reply:I think the names are great......If I would have to choose I would go with Constance Nichole that sounds really good together and I love the name Constance
Reply:Sorry not keen on most of the combinations you have. I like some of the names but not as you have them.

I think that Constance Mae, Jade Constance, Jade Nicole are all nice combinations of the names you have.
Reply:I like Colie Marie. don't like any of the others

It's a good name

Elisibeth Jade

(didn't spell it right)

Kelli Lynn
Reply:How about:

Blair Lynn Jade....my fav.

Starr Lynn Jade

Ella Lynn Jade

It's OK to use 2 middle names because they are short names....

My daughters name is Kaylee Ann Lacy....
Reply:i like the names:

Ella Jade

Amethyst Jade

Juliette Jade

Star Lynn

hope this helped :^)
Reply:Ella Jade is cute

I dont like kay marie jade

amethyst is not cute either

charlotte? eww

blair...thats a guys name

juilette not lieking it either

starr is ugly name

the first name is the best Ella Jade
Reply:Charlotte Jade is the only one I like. I love Juliette too but not with Lynn or Jade. Ella Jade is useable but unbelievably plain and boring, Eliana Jade or Eleanor/a Jade would be much more interesting and different.

Starr Lynn (Starlin?) and Starr Jade are the sort of names you'd expect to find on the credits of a porn film, sorry. Kay-Marie sounds country bumpkin and Amethyst is unlikely to make a good name, try Amelie
Reply:Ella Jade is the better one...The other ones are kinda dumb sounding ....Gl and congrats
Reply:Juliette Lynn is a great name.
Reply:I like Juliette Lynn or Charlotte Lynn.

I also like Aubrie/Audrie Lynn.
Reply:I love Ella and Charlotte. Some of them are kind of dumb, but these two are both beautiful.

Reply:Love it! You can call her Jay Jay or JoJo for short! Love the name!
Reply:I like the combination either way. Very pretty.
Reply:I think that joanna jade sound really pretty I prefer it over jade joanna
Reply:Joanna is a great name! I don't like jade though, it's a bit chavvy to me sorry. What about Louise or Louisa? or Joy if you want it to begin with the same initial.
Reply:drop the jade and just call her joanna ...jade is a bit old fashioned now,
Reply:I like Jade...but joanna? JJ ? I would drop Joanna and think of another name...but like Jade!
Reply:Some lovely names I have come across are....

Jude, Addison, Jada, Jasmine,

Javanna, Neve and Rochelle.........

I like them there unusual...... but its your choice!!!!!!

How do you like these baby names?

Girls: Bailey, Madison, Aubrey, Jade

Boys: Brennan, Braden, Caden, Jacob

How do you like these baby names?
Brennan meaning prince is a nice name.

I don't really like the girl names. Madison is okay-ish, but it literally means "son of Matthew". Why would you call your daugther "son of Matthew"?

If you want to find good names, check out this site:

http://www.babynames.com

You can use it to get the meanings of the names as well, personally I think that's important, not just how the name sounds.

All the best with those baby names :)
Reply:they are ok! but i like Maria and Drake
Reply:I like Bailey, Madison, Brennan, Braden and Caden.
Reply:I like Aubrey best for a girl and Braden or Caden best for boys....jacob is currently the #1 baby name, but if that doesnt bother you, Jacob is also a nice name. Brennan i like, but like Brandon better. Braden and Caden seem to be a trend right now. When i named my son Kaden 2.5 years ago i hadnt even heard the name, just saw it in a baby book loved the meaning and loved the name. Now i hear it everywhere, Braden, Kaden, Aiden....but they are great names. Good luck to you and merry christmas
Reply:i dislike bailey

how about talia?
Reply:Madison I love. As well as Braden.
Reply:Love the name Jade-I always wanted to name one of my kids that someday,Bailey is really unique for a girl-i like it, Madison is nice too-but i'm not a fan of Aubrey its nice though

I like Jacob and Braden the other two not so much
Reply:I love Jacob Braden....I don't really care for any girl names that you have listed..sorry.
Reply:Girls: Bailey (no), Madison (no), Aubrey (yes), and Jade (ok) possibly Jada

Reply:Most of these names are over used and are too common these days. the boy names you have listed are aweful(no offence to those reading this that has those names, I just don't like them) and the girls names are alright besides the madison name. I went to a hospital a little while ago to see a neice that was born recently, there were about 7 madison's, 3 kayla's, and about 8 makenzie's. These names need to be given a break.
Reply:i like Jade and Jacob. I wa going to name my son Jacob, but ex-hubby overruled me. my baby now is a girl and will have Jade as a middle name when she is born
Reply:LOVE them ALL!!! They all sound soo darn cute. Im going to go with Aubrey on the girls' name since I think Madison and Jade are over-used now. Bailey is cute but I just like Aubrey better. Im going to go with Jacob on the boy since the others are over used also.
Reply:Girl: Madison Nickname could me Maddie

Boy: Jacob (my nephews name!)
Reply:Bailey, Madison, and Aubrey are boys' names. Try giving your girl a girl's name. Jade is okay, though names that start with J are rather common right now.

For boys, combine the first two to get Brendan or Brandon, both nice names. Jacob is nice, too. I've never heard Caden--it doesn't really sound like a name.
Reply:For girls i like Jade %26amp; Bailey

for boys Caden is the best!

Reply:I think all the names are beautiful. Together, I like:

Millie Jasmine and Ruby Rose.

Lilly Rose and Mia Jasmine.
Reply:Phoebe is lovely, and I think if you dropped the rose off of Ruby the two would be nice together.

My twins are Winona Linette and Whitney Laine.
Reply:I may be a bit partial to these two names, but I think Phoebe and Ava are beautiful! My favorite little cousin's name is Phoebe, and she is the only Phoebe I've ever met. It's a unique name, so classic and cute. My best friend recently had a beautiful little daughter named Ava, and I've really grown to adore that name. All of your choices are beautiful, but I think that Phoebe %26amp; Ava would be lovely choices -- they are quite different from each other, too, which is what you were hoping. Best of luck!

Wow 1st baby, that is a very exciting and also somewhat daunting time for the expectant mother. I'm assuming she has asked for your input on the name suggestions.... this is a very personal thing so if I am wrong and she hasn't asked you then perhaps it is best to let her come to you with the names she is considering rather than presenting her with a list.

However if she HAS in fact asked for your input then what an honour! and it is definately a matter of personal preference but looking at your list - my favourite girls name is Charlotte Rose and boys name is Jack william but that is just MY prefrence - it may not be the preference of the mother to be.

Best wishes

What do you think of the name Michael Wayne for a boy and Madison Jade for a girl?

I am 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my third and last baby. This was definitely a surprise, but my husband and I are very happy about it. My best friend's brother passed away when she was six years old. He was 18. His name was Michael Wayne and also my grandfather's middle name was Wayne. My mom works with a lady whose 8 yr old grand daughter just passed away from leukemia on December 22. Madison was a beautiful little girl with a beautiful spirit and a beautiful name. I love the names. They are perfect and I would really like to honor the people. I have 2 daughters. They are 9 and 5 1/2. Their names are Taylor Meshelle and Makayla Anne. Any other suggestions for names are welcome and appreciated. We would really like a name that starts with an M. Thanks for taking the time to read all of this and thanks for answering.

What do you think of the name Michael Wayne for a boy and Madison Jade for a girl?
i love both names and think that they are both great! very well put together and what a nice thought to honor those other ppl. Also congratulations on the baby on the way! good luck with everything... just go with what you love for the names
Reply:I know a woman named Wayna. I like the names you picked...
Reply:i love that name:%26gt;
Reply:good
Reply:I don't like Wayne, but it has special meaning for you, so go ahead.

Madison Jade is okay... I like Addyson much better.

Girl names with an M:

Maria

Michelle

Misha

Reply:Both names are great. Congratulations!
Reply:Hi! Very nice and thoughtful! You are so blessed to have this chance for another baby. When you get older you need and find solace in your kids. Good luck sweet girl!
Reply:i like michael and i like wayne but not together but, i do like madison jade. my neices name is madison cheyenne i like that too.
Reply:i think both names rob your future child of having any kind of individuality....not only because they are basically the most popular names in the country but because they are names after young people who died tragically...who wants to begin life that way?

OKAY - how about Mason, Mariel, Maren, Maddock, Maya (Maya goes the best with your other girls names
Reply:Both are nice :) What about Madison Jadyn or Jadyn Madison, just a suggestion!
Reply:Madison Jade is a really cute name for a baby girl
Reply:what about mitchel or mark marc, madden, for a boy and melonie or milly, maddy ,megan ,meg, maggie, morgan, milanda for girl.
Reply:I like the Michael Wayne.

As for other names with "M", I like Madeline or Miranda.
Reply:please no on Madison. It was cool for the first thousand or so girls in 1984 after Splash came out, but now, its the #1 name, void of any originality. I teach preschool and out of 20 kids in the class, there are only 6 girls, and 2 have that overused name. Be original, she will love you for it later! ;)
Reply:I think Madison is a bit too popular and unoriginal for me, I know about 20 babies who all go to the same day-care who are named Madison, but if its for a good cause, go ahead and name her that. :)
Reply:I love both names, I think that they are great!!!!
Reply:Bruce Michael Wayne

Britney Madison Jade
Reply:Beautiful names...
Reply:there both really cute names
Reply:i like them both
Reply:michael lee, mariah dawn, michelle dawn, madison is a nice name....melony dawn, you have chozen good names before i am sure you will think of a good one for this child also....this is the fun part
Reply:Both of those names are nice. I live Michael Wayne especially. My other favorite M names for girls are Madelyn and Melanie
Reply:what a wonderful tribute to your friends. i think if you two are pleased with the names i would stay with them. take care and congradulations!!!
Reply:Madison is nice. I like it with Grace or Claire or Ariel.

Michael is nice but I don't like it shortened to Mike when he gets older. I prefer Mitchell or Mason. Nice touch honouring people with Wayne as the middle name.
Reply:Taylor, Makayla, and Madison flow beautifully. I usually don't like Madison because it's so common, but who cares anymore? Madison is a cute, awesome name! And clearly, you want a name that has meaning to you. Madison would be an excellent choice. But do you really want to explain to your daughter that she is named after a little girl who passed away who wasn't related to you? I would name her Madison and not tell her she was named after a little girl that died, whom you didn't know (but thats just me!). And though I like the thought of honoring someone too with Michael, I just don't think it flows well with your daughter's names. They have modern, hip and classy names. And Michael is, well, just Michael. I think it is the most used name of the century, and i just would never use it. It's also sounds too much like Makayla. I think Wayne is a great choice for a middle name since it is a relative of YOURS. Here are some other options for 1st names:

Taylor, Makayla..and

Maddox

Mason

Mitchell

Miles

Tyler

Tanner

Trevor

Travis

Trenton

Tristan
Reply:there really nice names just follow your instinct on what one to choose

Reply:Aww, Wayne is my fiance's middle name.

Congrats, those names sound great.

How to convince my husband on baby name?

I just found out three weeks ago that I'm am pregnant with our fourth child. We are trying very hard not to count our chickens before they hatch but really want another girl. Our oldest is an 8 yr old girl followed by 5 yr old boy and 19 mo. old boy. Anyway, my husband is insisting on the name Elizabeth Jade as a girls name, but also insisting on calling her by her middle name Jade. I on the other hand think this is stupid and if we have a girl, we should name her Jade Elizabeth and then at no point in her life will she be confused...or people calling out Elizabeth and her having to say, no it's Jade. What is your opinion? And if you agree w/ me, how do I convince my husband?

How to convince my husband on baby name?
I'm with you--if you want to call the child by a particular name, that should be her first name. The only time I wouldn't suggest that is if it just sounds really weird in that order, or if you use some kind of shortened nickname (i.e., Liz for Elizabeth). And I think Jade Elizabeth sounds great in that order. As for convincing your husband...I wish I had ideas! Best of luck!!
Reply:I'm not sure about your husband but I totally agree with you. The only thing I can suggest is wait until baby is here and if its a girl take a good look at her and decide then what name fits. Ask your husband what his logic is.

congratulations!
Reply:I think this is a power struggle more than a name struggle. Why are you interested in starting a fight with your husband at such an early stage? Why not just let it go for five or six months? Don't give him a hard time. First find out if it's a girl. Then let him tell people what he's thinking. Chances are, it will work itself out long before another eight month's go by. In the meantime, I think you should really figure out what's going on between the two of you. What's this really about? Anyway, whatever you name your kid, when she's 12, she'll come to you and say, "Don't call me _____ anymore, call me ________." Look at actresses like Jodi Foster and Sigourney Weaver. They picked those names, no one named them that. So stop sweating the small stuff.
Reply:It will be ok. I have 4 children. Girl(12), Boy(9), Boy(4) and Girl (18 months).

I loved the name Keely (Irish for Kelly) and really pushed to have it. But my husband didn't want it. I just shut up about it and kept it in my heart, but I circled it in the baby name book with highlight pen - would put little notes there "love this name", and whenever I sat and wrote names I liked I put it there on the list. When our bubby was born - we decided to call her Rachel (which I really love anyway) and my husband just said to me "would you like to give her the middle name Keely?". So that is her, Rachel Keely. You know, no matter which order her names are in, you can call her Jade (very pretty by the way). Heaps of kids are like that these days. Two of my little nephews are known by their middle names as they have the same first names as their dads - just saves on confusion. Its' not so bad. My husband is known to EVERYONE as his middle name and it's on his passport and everything - Ariel. But his first name is Gary. No, one calls him that - the only place it is on is his birth certificate.
Reply:i agree with you !!! tell your husband to imagine that his parents had done this to his name and called him by his middle name never his first legal name.think about what that would really be like and how he would have felt about it.then ask him to reconsider and name her JADE ELIZABETH!!! it will make her life less complicated and you and her dads too!good luck.
Reply:I totally agree with you! I think it is a compromise and wonderful that you have both been able to decide on a name. Explain to him how you feel and that you truly feel strongly about this.
Reply:Well, I have to agree with your husband that Elizabeth Jade sounds better than Jade Elizabeth. A lot of people go by their middle names. It is not really that big of a deal. Also, she may decide when she gets older that she would rather use Elizabeth. It is a great name that has many options for nicknames. She may not even go by Jade or Elizabeth. No matter what you name her, friends and family will give her different nicknames. My advice is to not worry about it so much. Congrats and good luck!
Reply:I don't know but you could name her Jade J'aayde and then you won't have to worry about it. but i agree with you. If you name her Elizabeth Jade, she will get alot of Liz and Beth and maybe even a some Lizzie. Good luck!! Oh, you could cry and that might help you get your way. (smiles)
Reply:If he wants to call her by the name Jade, then that should be her first name.

Is there any particular reason her wants them around the other way?
Reply:I think it's ridiculous to name someone one thing knowing all along they will be called another. I hate how people say oh how does Sean sound with bob or billy with john... How often do you ever hear anyone called by both names? I have never been called by my middle name. My mom doesn't even remember my middle name. That will be so confusing in school for her. I'd stick with calling her by her first name.
Reply:I think Jade is an awful name, and it's horribly trendy so there'll be twelve others in her class. Stick with Elizabeth.
Reply:Jade Elizabeth!

tell him if it's a girl you pick the name

and if it's boy he picks it.
Reply:If you are going to call her by the name Jade then that has to be her first name. You are totally right that it will only confuse her if you don't. Jade Elizabeth is really pretty anyway!

Just explain it to hubby the very same way you explained it to us as it was very convincing and most of us agreed with you!

Good luck!
Reply:i can understand your point of view but i also understand your husband too.. i mean i knew a girl whose mom called her by her first name and grandma by the middle name. and all her friends called her by the middle name and eventually as we all got older we called her by her first name. really when a person has a first name and middle name they decided which one they would like to be called by. so there is nothing wrong with your hubby calling her by her middle name. i dont think she will get confused. plus maybe he feels that when you see the first name you should immediately know its a girl, instead of looking at the middle name first. Also it sounds better. but i also see your point, it would piss me off too
Reply:I agree with you. I hate it when people names there kids something and then call them by their middle names. I don't see the point. If you want to call her Jade name her Jade. It will cause problems for her later to always have to tell people "My name is Elizabeth but I go by my middle name Jade" I don't think it is worth the hassle. Jade Elizabeth is a nice name. I think you should just go with that.
Reply:Does it really matter, I mean, when she gets in trouble, you'll be calling her by her WHOLE name...lol...Jade is a cool first and middle name, Elizabeth is beautiful too, remember with those two names, nick names will eventually develop my friends and family and class mates

Elizabeth - Lizzy, Beth, Leesee, Bess, B, Lil E, Abe

Jade - Jay, Lil J, Dee

So either way you put it, she'll get nicknames from everyone
Reply:I think you should keep it as is. I have friends and relatives who go by their middle names simply because they don't care for their first name. So say you name her Jade Elizabeth, and when she's older she prefers to go by Elizabeth (or a form of) rather than Jade. She'd still be going by her middle name.

Just my opinion.

Congratulations!

When is it okay to wean baby bunnies?

Yeah, i have 4 babies at home and they are 6 weeks old. they still drink from the mother and eat solid pellets and vegetables at the same time!!! They even drink water, too!!!! is it time to give them away....how long do i have to wait??????

Thanks,

Please Help,

Love,

Jade

When is it okay to wean baby bunnies?
When the babies are about 4 weeks old, the mother's milk begins to dry up. At this point, you should begin to remove one baby at a time from the mom. Start by taking the largest baby away first, then in 2 days, take another, then another until they are all weaned.

By 5 weeks, the babies are usually weaned off the mother, and should be eating and drinking on their own. If there is a rabbit that doesn't seem to be thriving the way the rest are, leave it with the mom longer than the others.

Since you said they are eating and drinking on their own, they are obviously quite ready to be weaned off the mother. Good luck!
Reply:8 weeks is a good time to separate from mom and split up by sexes. Don't wait past 12 weeks, rabbits can get pregnant as early as 13 weeks, and you wouldn't want one of the boys impregnating mom or one of the baby girls. Mom will likely have stopped nursing them on her own my 8 weeks as well.
Reply:until they are 3-4 months. its the best time for them because they have enough strength .
Reply:My kittens are still with their mother and will be until the kittens are 12 weeks old, then i will think about splitting them up.
Reply:As long as the kits are eating and drinking well on their own they can be seperated from the doe. I would keep them for another week to make sure they are all doing well with out the mother. (No diarrhea or runny noses).

Rabbits at this young of an age should NOT be fed any type of fresh foods, like fruits or vegetables. Their systems cannot digest them properly and they can end up with mucoid enteritis or at the last bad diarrhea.

Stic to pellets and fresh grass hay and water for them.
Reply:Four weeks.

Which of these combinations of baby names is best?

I'm pregnant and these are my baby names for boys and girls.

Boy

Darius Connor (actually thinking about it i think we chose this as the name if it is a boy, but please tell me what you think of it!)

Girl

Elouise Jade

Delilah Jade

----------------

My first borns name is Charise Bethani, and my sons name is Lucius Tiberius (we like different names :D)

Which of these combinations of baby names is best?
Darius Connor i think sounds cool and lends itself to the nickname DC which sounds good to, out of the girls name i prefer Delilah Jade.
Reply:I love Darius Connor. Darius is on my list of favorite boys' names, and I like how the regal Darius is balanced by the more common Connor.

For girls, I strongly prefer Elouise Jade to Delilah Jade. Delilah is beautiful, but I would have qualms about using it due to the Plain White T's song -- that song seems to strongly date the name to this decade. I also have some qualms about using it due to its meaning in a biblical/historial context. Delilah was a famous temptress and deceiver. Elouise, in contrast, is beautiful and timeless and has no negative historical associations. (I slightly prefer the Eloise spelling, but both are perfectly legitimate.)

Congratulations, and I hope this helps!
Reply:Darius Connor is a great name!

Eloise or Delilah ... tough call, but I'd probably say Eloise Jade as all your other names kind of "rhyme" ...

Charise

Lucius

Darius

Eloise ... goes nicely with Charise.

However, Darius %26amp; Delilah, and Lucius %26amp; Charise are also good matches for names. Guess I'm no help. :(

Blessings
Reply:Darius Connor! I love it. I was going to name my son Darius Darnell but I changed his first name. I just fell in love with Delilah Jade though. I couldn't think of many girl's names that started with a D but I don't have to worry about that now.
Reply:I wasn't sure at first...but I kind of like them all. Elouise is nice, so is Delilah...Darius isn't my favorite...but it could grow on me. What about the spelling Eloise? It will make it easier on her life down the road...
Reply:I like Darius, but don't care for Connor.

I like Elouise better, but spelled Eloise.

I would go with:

Darius Rhett

or

Eloise Jade
Reply:Darius is cool, but I personally hate the name Connor.

Delilah Jade is beautiful! Love it!
Reply:i like the boys name

and like the Elouise Jade for the girl

and while shes still young she can be called liza
Reply:How about

Eveangeline Jade

and Darius Skyler

Reply:Darius Connor is a cool name. :)

I don't like Elouise Jade, but I LOVE the name Delila!
Reply:For boy I personally like: Vellian Lae
Reply:Darius Connor is so cute.

The girl names are cute too, but I like Delilah Jade a little more.
Reply:Delilah Jade, all the way!

What is wrong with my baby turtle? What can I do to fix this?

Okay I might be answering my own question here but I need help from the people who know about TURTLES.

I just left a few days ago for a family vacation and I was gone for 4 days not really that long.. When I got home last night I decided to clean my turtle tank, bc it need to be washed out. So i took out my fish and my turtles and placed them in a temporary tank. I took my tank outside and cleaned it and put it back. well When i was cleaning my rocks outside i took my turtles with me like i alwasy do, well when i put Jade down on the ground she took off running! and i had to get up bc she went far fast, and when i picked her up her mouth was open and it didn' look friendly so i put a shell up to her mouth and she bite it! a death grip. it really scard me bc she has never done this b4! she usually puts her head on my hand and rests it when i pick her up. Was she just scared? I'm really confussed and it really scares me. She is like my baby- what do i do? Jade: 1yr old red ear slider

What is wrong with my baby turtle? What can I do to fix this?
Its happens all the time to me, first please check her to make shore she is not hurt or bleeding any ware because when they are hurt they get very mean, just to make shore.

if nothing is wrong it's just the typical turtle, she prob was scared or frightened by you or did not realize it was you, after 4 days that happens, same thing happens when i leave for the week end, but they go back to normal after 1 or to days, to get her full trust again try hand feeding her, thats how i got my turtles tamed and when this happens thats what i do, if this continuous then something might be wrong you may consider taking to the vet, but i would say she is just got a little spooked.

good luck, chris
Reply:I think Mike M and Chris, as well as yourself answered your question. Just a little upset and scared from being by itself for a while, lack of attention...
Reply:my turtle always does this when i get a hold of him. It's because they don't like to be handled very often and they get frightened. They sometimes bite too. So about your question, i 'd think it's normal.
Reply:ok well i have the same turtle when you dont hold them for awhile they will get kinda mad or when you dont watch them if i were you just look in her tank for like 15 min then a little while after hold her until she calms down

How do you take cuttings off of a Jade plant?

I have two jade plants that I believe are very healthy...just had to replant them into larger pots..would like to take cuttings to start babies... where is the best spot to take the cuttings???

How do you take cuttings off of a Jade plant?
Jade is one the easiest succulents to take cuttings from. Even accidentally broken pieces will root themselves. I would worry more about the the main plant and where you might leave "bald" spots then where to take the cuttings themselves from.

This is a fun plant to do this to. It's so easy. Have fun with it!

Reply:look online, gardening
Reply:i have many house plants i have found that if you break a leaf off and put it in moist dirt it will root
Reply:Jade plants are easy. Just break off a piece and plant it.
Reply:Use a pair of clean pruning shears/scissors and take a 4-5 inch piece off a branch. You can then put directly in the soil. Keep damp but not over watered and it should grow pretty easily. YOu might also consider using some "rooting Hormone". DO NOT dunk your cutting directly into the container. It can spread diseases and viruses....
Reply:Jade plants are miraculous. You can snap off anywhere, stick it in soil, and it will grow.

Select a nicely-shaped section, as it will be the base for the plant.
Reply:I have to say, I am in the floral industry, and you have no wrong answers so far! I do stick them right under the mother plant in the same pot.

That is not Scientific, but my Italian Grandfathers superstition that they grow better close to the mother plant!
Reply:It's been a while but I think you just break it off at the "joint" and put that part into water......just the broken part and it'll root. To be sure just phone a local green house
Reply:You can take any of the single lobes/leaves off the plant and stick them directly into your potting medium about half-way. They should grow roots and become baby jade plants in a couple of months. Very easy to propogate.

How would you feel if your ex had a baby and they named her?

a name that sounds very close to the name of your child? I'm weirded out by it. My daughter is named Natalie Jade and they named their baby who has almost the same birthday 4 yrs later. Aaliyah Jayden

How would you feel if your ex had a baby and they named her?
Natalie and Aaliyah don't seem a like to me. Just the middle is similar. Jayden is awful and horrid though.

Natalie Jade is gorgeous. Your daughter definitely got the better name.
Reply:Is he the father of your child? If he is maybe he wanted his girls to have similar names, a lot of parents do that.

If he is not the father of your child too, that is psycho and so is his woman for allowing it. If it is the case that Natalie is not his there are some deep unresolved issues in his head.
Reply:I wouldn't care what they named their baby. I would just make sure everyone had a positive attitude around the children.

Natalie Jade is a very pretty name!
Reply:I don't think "Natalie Jade" and "Aaliyah Jayden" sound similar really.
Reply:I would be happy to have the child with the better name, and leave it at that. Both Aaliyah and Jayden are names that are currently popular, but not considered classically attractive, and they probably won't sound as nice in fifty years.
Reply:not a nice thing to do i agree , but maybe he misses his daughter he has with you /

Does he see Natalie ?

.
Reply:Don't loose any sleep over it !!!

Natalie Jade is a million times nicer!!!!
Reply:well who knows maybe your childs name was just kinda clingy and ur ex liked it. and when coming up with names he thought of what you had come up with. I would be proud because he may of still had you in mind who knows or it could be a coincidence
Reply:Well, the middle name is similar, but the first name is very different. Is this ex someone you keep in contact with? If not, then he may not have even realized the similarity. Who knows!
Reply:why does that weird you out, it's still your ex husband's daughter. maybe they wanted the baby to have a similar name to her sister....it is still her sister ya know.
Reply:mayb ur ex ddnt think abt it or either they liked ur daughters name an decided they wanted their daughter 2 have a catchy name 2 bt the b*day thing dont worry abt it, it probably was just a coincidence
Reply:My mom's ex named his baby after HER....my mom is Barbara Jean and the idiot named his daughter Barbara Kate....so I think he's just a LITTLE obsessed with my mom still.....stupid creep. I wonder if his wife knows!
Reply:I don't think it is that close at all. All of the four names are very popular, so I think it is just a coincidence.
Reply:Forgetaboutit!

Those are popular names, and they really aren't that similar when you say it.....
Reply:Don't worry about it, your daughter's name is nicer than theirs. You should feel flattered that they named their child similar to yours.
Reply:I think you're really reaching. They dont sound that much alike to me. Jade and Jaden are just very common names right now.
Reply:Would you rather they named their daughter Lina instead?
Reply:Your ex is not the father of your child, right?

How do you keep house plants dusted? Spray bottle?

My house plants (especially my Baby Jade) collect a lot of dust. I was wondering what the best way to dust them without damaging them is. Are then being harmed by having dusty leaves? Does it affect their ability to breath or photosynthesize? Also, I know that a lot of garden departments sell spray bottles for water. Is this for keeping plants dusted or watered? Is there some other function of the spray bottle that I don't know about?

How do you keep house plants dusted? Spray bottle?
The best way to keep house plants dusted is to put them out in the garden for spells most of the time and just bring them in for brief periods for a day or two. They need natural sunlight to live and without it, they will gradually wilt and die. Few plants will stay alive inside for longer, aspidistra is one, mother's in law's tongue, another, and a popular vine. Jade plants are really a weed, but still interesting. Inside is still a no-no for them, though.

You can wipe the leaves with a tissue dipped in milk to dust the leaves and leave a glossy sheen. You can also purchase a sheen solution from a plant nursery. The dust on the leaves will not hurt them. It is just that it does not fit in with a dusted interior. You can get rid of that by gently spraying with the hose and allowing the excess to run off.

The water spray is essentially for creating a micro climate that is

high in humidity for young plants or items which thrive in a rainforest's environment.
Reply:I use a small feather duster for most, and a few sprays of canned error works for plants with alot of crevices in the leaves. The spray bottle is to provide water to the leaves and stem just like the rain would rather than just dumping water into the potted soil.
Reply:2 great answers!! You don't need anymore discussion about this ♥
Reply:I am happy to know I am not the only one with dusty plants! LOL!

I periodically put my plants in the sink or shower and gently spray with the hand sprayer. Sometimes I will wet a paper towel and go over the leaves. A soft dry cloth will also shine some types of leaves.

Fuzzy leaves often don't like to be wet or wiped off.

Another benefit of spraying the plants is to drench and drain the plant well to rinse the soil in a way. Salts and stuff accumulate in the soil.

I heat with wood so this also helps my plants thrive and not dry out too much.

We are thinking Hannah Jade Joseph (Joseph - surname) for our baby girl;will she be bullied as 'Hannah Montana

Nah i dont think so, by the time shes older id say hanna montanna will not be in the spot light. (miley might, but not associated with hannah montanna.)

We are thinking Hannah Jade Joseph (Joseph - surname) for our baby girl;will she be bullied as 'Hannah Montana
No, I seriously doubt that Hannah Montana has that long of a staying power. Besides, there are a lot of Hannah's in the world and therefore teasing one would be like throwing a pebble that starts an avalanche. Basically it would be like committing suicide, whoever said whatever would be tag teamed. lol Now being named Montana, that would bring on the Hannah Montana teasing.

The only thing about the name you picked that I don't like is the double J. Hannah Jade Joseph, too many J names.
Reply:She may not, but still after "Hannah Montana" the name Hannah isn't as pretty anymore. It's like Hannah Montana ruined the name : (

Maybe Jade Hannah Joseph?

Or:

Sophia Jade Joseph

Elisabeth Jade Joseph

Daniella Jade Joseph

Jade Anabella Joseph

Jade Madeline Joseph

Erin Jade Joseph

Samantha Jade Joseph (maybe not this one, a singer is Samantha Jade .. )

Jade Francesca Joseph

Congrats Though!!

~~Julie~~
Reply:My name's Hannah, and I've never had a problem except for its extreme popularity. She's not going to get bullied because of a celebrity. There are plenty of Jessica's out there; they don't get made fun of because of Jessica Simpson.
Reply:haha no i dont think so. hannah is a veryy common name. in fact, my best friends name is hannah. and i dont think ppl will call her hannah montana~ after all, miley cyrus will be gone by the time your daughter grows up. well, she wont be such a hit by then
Reply:No, her name isn't even close to "Montana".

I know a lot of Hannahs in school and nobody makes fun of them.

Plus, most kids your daughter's age will probably not even know who Hannah Montana is.
Reply:I wouldn't count on it. By the time she goes to school Hannah Montana should be long gone. Hannah Jade is beautiful. I also like the spelling Hanna (without the "H" at the end) but eather way, its a great name.
Reply:No way - Hannah is a nice name. Hannah Montana will be in rehab by the time your daughter is old enough to be teased. No need to worry. Beautiful choice, good luck to you!
Reply:Hannah Montana will be alot older by the time your child is old enough to get bullied. Thats a generational thing. She shouldn't be affected by that time. I would worry more about " Hannah Banana"
Reply:nooo she wont be bullied because a stupid show like Hannah Montana! the show will probably be old by the time your child grows up. don't worry about it!
Reply:By the time she gets to be school-age Hannah Montana will be so over it won't be worth worrying about. If you like it use it!
Reply:nah... cuz'' in a few years no one will remember hannah montana
Reply:most likely, anna jade, Hanna Jade, umm or a whole new name gl
Reply:prononce it differently (with the 1st "a" like hot without the t)

I like the name Jade but I've been hearing 'Lola' quite a lot. How about Alexis Jade?
Reply:THE most important thing to remember about naming children is they have to LIVE with it. Every kid hates their name to some degree, it's genetic, but if you give your baby something really exotic, that can't be broken down into a one on two syllable name, you are asking for therapy bills down the road.
Reply:i like jade but lola...not sure....

Reply:Depends on the last name, totally. Lola Jade Smith would be great, but Lola Jade Spade wouldn't work. Remember, your kid has to live with her name the rest of her life.
