Hi! After much consideration, I have decided on the baby girls names of either Emmelise or Amelia (Jade Linne Winter will be their middle names and surname) and I would like to know whether to shorten Emmelise to Emme or Emma for school etc.
How would you pronounce Emme?
I always thought it would be just Emm but some people might say Emm-ie. Which would be better, and what is a good short/nickname fo amelia?
Pronunciation: Emme?
I would call her Emm-ee (I call my sister that her name is Emily though)
How is Emmelise pronounced? Emmalise Jade Linne Winter would be nice. Emma-lee-se right??
But since it's a looong name, Amelia would be better.
Amelia Jade Linne Winter
or
Emmalise Jade Linne Winter
Amelia flows waayy better!!
Congrats!!

Reply:I love Emmeleise Jade Linne Winter! What a gorgeous name!
And I think Emmeleise is perfect the way it is - Emme and Emma are just too common these days and Emmaleise is decidingly more unique.
Emme? I would pronounce it "Emm-a" and I think that's the standard pronounciation.
Congrulations on your baby girl!
Reply:I don't think "Emme" would be a good nickname. The child would grow up getting fruusterated correcting other people. Because "Emmelise" sounds like a European name (most likey French), I'm assuming that "Emme" is pronounced as " Emm" (as in the letter "M").
A good short name for Amelia would be "Mia".
Reply:Emmelise is nice... i've never heard of it before but i like it. Emme- i would think it it pronounced emm-ie.
for Amelia- mia
Reply:i would pronounce it either Em-E or M but i think the correct pronunciation is Em-E
how about Emmelene/Emmalene(em-mah-lean)
Amelia= Mia, Ammy, Meli
Reply:I would pronounce Emme like Em-EE. I think it's really pretty =)
I think Mia is a really cute nickname for Amelia
Reply:I would pick Amelia
Reply:i like emme it would be pronounced em-ee for amelia it could be shortned to amy
Reply:I say it as em-ee but I think that you should use it! Amelia is one of the fastest growing names right now.
Reply:Emmy
Reply:em or emma
