Hennesey or Alizae...what do you think? The middle name will ultimately be Jade. Yes I know they are alcoholic beverages but my cousin Brittany wants ssomething very diffrent.
My cousin wants to name her baby girl...?
How tacky! Your cousin Brittany sounds like a complete booze hound.... Before she decides on sabotaging, I mean naming her baby, she ought to lay off the Hennesey and Alizae.
Reply:Alizae is definately better than "Hennessey" [the drink has a double "S" in the middle]. If you cousin likes the sound of these names, perhaps urge her to consider some similar options for more choice. I've always like "Alisia/ Alessia" and also "Anais".
Hennessey is too harsh for a baby - child - teenager - adult in my opinion. Alizae would remind me every time out of the drink with the same name, but seems more acceptable.
Reply:I think that naming a child after alcohol may not be the greatest idea. the name hennesey also seems an open invitation for ridicule. i believe that a persons name has an affect on the outcome of their lives. Alizae doesnt sound like that bad of a name, but to be honest i think it is selfish of the parent to want to name a child after booze.
if your cousin wants to name a child something original a few things to keep in mind are:
Dont's
* Don't name your baby after someone or something that you may come to hate or dislike.
* Don't name your baby with terms that have slang meanings or to popular culture as the name may be outdated or unfitting when the child grows up
* Don't give your child a name that he or she will constantly be having to spell it out for others. This will get annoying and frustrating.
* Check your baby name initials together with your surname. Initials of names like Christopher David Player (C.D. Player) or Annie Sue Stiles could be embarassing.
* Don't make your baby name sound like a tongue twister.
* Consider the confusion involved in naming your child after yourself or someone in the family.
* Make sure to fully research your chosen name, especially if it seems unique and foreign. It would be embarassing to discover later that your child has the name of an infamous character from history or a foreign country.
* Avoid involving your friends in your name search. Their input will only complicate a process that is already difficult with two people. And, in the worst case, someone might 'steal' your perfect name for their baby before you have claimed it.
* Don't wait until the delivery to decide on the name if you want to have any say in the matter. If you do, make sure you're ready to give in to whatever your wife decides. When the baby is handed to you, the doctor or nurse will ask what you have decided for a name. At this point, it is very difficult to argue with a woman who has been in labor for eight hours. Forewarned is forearmed.
Do's
* Use online naming engines to help you throw a wide net for your name search.
* Select the top 5-10 names you like. After your baby is born, you might find the fifth name more suitable to his or her appearance.
* Let the baby's appearance dictate the final choice. Of-course, you wouldn't keep terms like Toothless Wonder or mashed potato in your list.
* Meaningful names or names of historical personalities you admire can help children gain direction in their lives.
Ultimately your cousin can name the child whatever she wants. She should keep in mind that whatever name is picked that it will be there for the rest of his or hers life. Good luck!
Reply:Hennesay not so much, Alizae could pass. I understand about the alcholic breverage part I wanrted to name my lil girl Morgan Baylee but got too much crap for it being so "alcoholic" People are dumb but not dumb enough tell tell your cousin to her face your baby name is bad!! So I think you should tell her not to worry what people think. Plus by the time the child is old enough for them to realize alcohol names those probably wont even be around. Good Luck!
Reply:Does anyone ever consider the child? Think about middle school, high school or getting a job. I know it is not right but if I was to see Hennesey on a job application I might think twice about calling for an interview.
You say she wants to be different.....well everybody wants to be different so that makes her just like everyone else
Reply:I personally like Hennesey, but you also have to think about a nickname what would work for that. I named my son Jack Daniel, so I dont think that there is anything wrong with naming for alcohol. And we also thought that Jack is cute for the baby now but prob as he gets older it will be J.D.
Reply:I personally like Alizae, it doesnt matter that its an alcoholic beverage...i mean its a pretty name....
Hennesey..on the other hand...im not so sure about...i mean its definately different but its just something thats not very considerate of her baby...but if thats really what she likes then there must be a reason...
Hope this helped in some way....Congratulations and good luck to her! :)
Reply:Uh... if she is going for names of liquor, why not "Laphroaig", "Wild Turkey", or even "Maker's Mark"? In fact, I like Maker's Mark. Just for her info, this will be something kids will tease her about forever. Wait a minute, this is something I'd tease her about, and I'm a high school math, science and human sexuality teacher.
Reply:TERRIBLE!
There are many other names to choose from other than alcoholic beverages.
That like naming your boy Bud Light!

Reply:that is so trashy. i keep meeting ghetto people that either name there kids after something they could never afford; (diamond, Mercedes, Porsche,)
OR they name the kid after something incredibly cheap, case in point-- alcoholic beverages.
Reply:Horrid
I'm all for something different, but not bizarre and ridiculous. If she is such a fan of the names, your cousin should change her name to one of those and not put her kid through such moronic logic.
Reply:I have heard of people naming there child that before and really it's a little getto tell her to think if what she wants for her child and what if the child is president do you really want a president named hennessy?
Reply:I HAVE MET A ALIZE BEFORE AND ALTHOUGH ITS NOT MY STYLE, ITS NOT HORRIBLE. HENNESSEY ON THE OTHER HAND IS HORRIBLE! AND YOU SHOULD TELL HER SO. THIS KIDS WILL BE MADE FUN OF FOR A NAME LIKE THAT. SHES A SITTING DUCK FOR TEASING.
ALIZE NOT THAT BAD.
GOOD LUCK TO HER AND CONGRATS!
Reply:yuck, yuck, yuck
how about naming her-
Jade Hennesey or
Jade Alizae??
Seriously... I love to smoke my Marlboro bust I dont name my son that
Reply:I love the name Alizae :). It's adorable.
Remember, they were names before they were alcoholic beverage names.
Reply:I think Jade would be a better first name and one of the others as a middle name? Although Jade probably isnt as unique as your cousin wanted.
Reply:Alizae is okay but not Hennesey. It sounds like Henna or like someone is mispronouncing Tennessee.
Reply:nicholla or nicholline sounds way better than those choices...yes they're right...she might turn up an alcoholic...hehehehe..remember the saying that we all live up to our names..be careful..be very careful
Reply:Thats terrible. The poor kid will be tormented forever. Im betting that your cousin Brittany is around 14 years old.
Reply:alizae jade sounds pretty different. ...well so would the other. but i like alizae.
Reply:alizae is actually pretty. but is she really naming them after alcoholic beverages? i wouldnt' do that....but that's my opinion
Reply:I love the name jade.As for Hennesey or Alizae id go with Alizae.
Reply:My nephew had cats named Miller and Heineken, but cats are different than people. Tell your cousin to save these names for her pets, and come up with something else for her child!
Reply:Most defnitely Alizae. It's cute, it's original and she could use Ali for short.
Reply:I think they are cute! But I think I like Hennesey (I can't remember the spelling, sorry!)!
Reply:If she wants something different.. try something like Chrystabelle or Mahogany or Maple
Reply:That sucks. You can be unique without being tacky. Naming a kid after liquer is NOT cool
Reply:make jade the first name and the the alcoholic name as the middle.
Reply:Alizae
Reply:Both are bad choices in my opinion. I guess if I had to choose one I would go with Hennesey.
Reply:I think theyre cute. It's kinda weird that both names are booze names but hey, to each her own. It's her baby. :)
