My baby girl will be born any day now and we haven't decided on a name. What do you think about Jade Xia?

Xia (Z-eye-uh) is a Chinese name that means Glow of the Sunrise.

My son's name is Jalen Xavier and we were wanting to give her the same initials. But we also were thinking about

Leila Jade. Our last name is Stephens.

Jade Xia Stephens.

Sounds better when you say it together Jade-Xia

Leila Jade Stephens.

We also like Jada but can't think of a nice middle name to go with it. Please give us your opinion and any other ideas you have. Thanks!

Xia is Chinese for Glow of the Sunrise? Really? I speak fluent Mandarin...I have no idea what you're referring to. Hmmm, are you thinking Cantonese?

Also, Xia would not be pronounced z-eye-uh, its actually see-ya but you have to say it really fast to hear what it really would sound like because this pronounciation is not found in English words. The "ee" in "see" is not annunciated heavily. Its just "ssss + ya"

Oh, I just realized I typed "see-ya" on the previous paragraph. I wasn't trying to be a jerk. It really is pronounced that way...if Mandarin that is.
Reply:i like leila jade better. but if i would give your baby's name..., i would like to jion alexandra...... (jade alexandra) haha.... if u still want the initials... i think jade xandra would do... anyway.., its just my opinion...=)
Reply:Leila Jade
Reply:The problem with stating baby name choices is that if someone doesn't like what you really like, it can sour you on it. That said, Jade Xia sounds a bit like you're trying too hard. Also, it would sound nicer to have a first and middle name that flowed together. Jade Xia are two hard sounds that don't flow. Leila Jade flows better. Especially with your last name. Leila Jade Stephens. Saying the whole thing out loud can help too.

Ultimately, the choice is up to you, but just remember that it is permament.
Reply:I like Leila Jade better...

Jade Xia sounds like a comic book heroe...
Reply:Love the name Jade. That's my little princess' name. But I don't get Xia. I'm not sure if you got the meaning right and it's pronounced as Zee-ya in Mandarin. (I'm Chinese) Something like "see yah, later". She may not appreciate being called that and teased by her friends.

How about Jade Xanthe, if you want to retain the initials.
Reply:Beautiful name - Jade Xia.
Reply:sounds cool, i love it!

love your sons name too.
Reply:xia doesnot mean the glow of the sunrise,it's means the clouds of the sunrise and sunset.
Reply:I like Jade Xia, though some might not know how to pronounce Xia right off the back. Either way Jade Xia is cute.. my boyfriend loves the name Xavier for some reason. We came up with Deegon Xavier for a name.. we also came up with Madelyn Rayne. Either way whatever you name your baby, it will be unique in it's own little way and your daughter will grow up to love it. Just hope she doesn't come out a boy.. thats happened in my family. Congrats and good luck.
Reply:Try Jada Rae Stephens! Congrats!
Reply:TRY JADA XIANN
Reply:Jada sounds VERY NICE...
Reply:And what is you little girl going to think about this name when she becomes .... say over the age of 11.

Jade-Xia ...................... good grief

but

Leila Jade ...................... a lot better.

Don't forget .... your little girl has to live with the name that you have thought out for her.

Make a wise decision please.
Reply:I like Genisis Xolani or Jadexia Xolani (zo la knee) pronounciation
Reply:Just go for Jade Xia, it's a good name %26amp; as u said that your son's name is Jalen Xavier. Both of them have same initials. I also like Leila Jade, it's a sweet %26amp; cute name.

But if u really like Jade Xia then u should go for it.

Good luck!!!

;-)
Reply:I like both Jade Zia and Leila Jade....but if I had to pick.....I'd pick Leila Jade
